Vancouver criminal lawyer Michael Shapray of Stern Albert Shapray & Associates was co-counsel on a significant drug charges case thrown out of court September 19, 2014. The ruling found that the failure of the Canadian Government to take any steps to extradite a Canadian citizen living openly in India for approximately 10 years after drug smuggling charges were laid in Canada, amounted to an unreasonable delay. A judicial stay of proceedings was directed by the judge, resulting in no criminal record or jail time. Read the full judgement here.
