Michael Shapray is a leading criminal lawyer in British Columbia with extensive experience defending criminal charges all over the Province. In addition, Michael has experience as a special prosecutor and ad hoc Crown Counsel which gives him a unique understanding of how the “other side” of the case works. He was also the first lawyer hired in British Columbia to act as special counsel to a Judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia where he worked for a number of years assisting with the Air India trial.

Michael is often hired by clients under investigation and has had tremendous success working with clients during the initial stages of a case. Many clients under investigation by the police never even end up facing charges after Michael gets involved in the case and becomes the point person for dealing with the police and Crown counsel.

Michael Shapray’s primary office is in Surrey, where he handles cases relating to charges arising in the cities of Surrey, Langley, Delta, North Delta, White Rock, Abbotsford, Aldergrove, Chilliwack, and Maple Ridge. Mr. Shapray regularly travels across B.C. to represent clients on difficult cases in all parts of the Province and regularly appears in the courts of Prince George, Kamloops, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Victoria and Nanaimo as well as other cities with a courthouse.
